While watching the movie "Avatar" I constantly had thoughts like "there really are planets out there where all the inhabitants are aware of and revere their planetary Mother", and "such balance and respect and dignity between all the different beings on this planet", etc.

Towards the end of the movie it hit me that there are lots of powerful parallels between the essential message of "Avatar" and that of Anastasia. The more I thought about it for hours after watching the movie the more I thought they are part of the same release of grace from God to help our planet back to sanity.

You can probably tell that I really liked the movie as well as the concepts Anastasia presents.

I too loved Avatar and immediately thought of its connection with Anastasia, with the sacred tree and
the spiritual ties the native civilization had with
nature and especially the tree, which was in a remote
difficult location. Disappointed how quickly the
Vatican put that down, but then again the movie was
the prod to expose the Vatican's fear of losing its
grip on people who might realize the spiritual truths
within the movie. this would have to be reason behind
Avatar's huge popularity, far beyond its entertainment
value. God bless Cameron for his courage making it!

Avatar really seemed to hit the public right where it needed it, to be shown the big picture of its
spiritual ties to nature and the centrality of nature's connection to all of us. I have no doubt that
Cameron hit a nerve in a big way, considering its phenomenal popularity. people apparently have
voted their sentiment with the spiritual ties exhibited in Avatar. Look back on how powerful a
trip to the woods is for revitalizing their souls, the pranic rush people people have being near the
moving waterfalls, feeling the presence in the trees. Cameron really provoked a huge response
from people who I'd say voted with their viewership in fantastic numbers just how much Avatar
resonates with their souls in the need to recognize the power of the presence in nature in their
lives. This would have to explain the incredible response to Avatar, beyond the 3D effect, which
I was not influenced by because I chose to see it in 2D.

Would love to see more spiritually oriented movies. perhaps Avatar has paved the way for this
possibility. I would not miss the militaristic aspects depicted in Avatar, but Avatar has its
place in covering both grounds of spirituality and the overwrought reaction of the military in its
strive for power, like taking heaven by force.

I loved the "Avatar" movie!

I think that it was inspired by Anastasia, at least on inner levels.

"Avatar" simplistic, and criticized it for flirting with modern doctrines that
promote the worship of nature as a substitute for religion.

L'Osservatore Romano and Vatican Radio dedicated ample coverage to James
Cameron's big-grossing, 3-D spectacle. But the reviews were lukewarm, calling
the movie superficial in its eco-message, despite groundbreaking visual effects.

L'Osservatore said the film "gets bogged down by a spiritualism linked to the
worship of nature." Similarly, Vatican Radio said it "cleverly winks at all
those pseudo-doctrines that turn ecology into the religion of the millennium."

"Nature is no longer a creation to defend, but a divinity to worship," the radio
said.

Vatican spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi said that while the movie reviews
are just that — film criticism, with no theological weight — they do reflect
Pope Benedict XVI's views on the dangers of turning nature into a "new
divinity."

Benedict has often spoken about the need to protect the environment, earning the
nickname of "green pope." But he has sometimes balanced that call with a warning
against neo-paganism.

I believe that it was the Roman church which influenced the burning of thousands and thousands of women as witches in an effort to disempower the divine feminine in people's lives. Most of those women who were condemned as witches were simply people who were in touch with God in nature and that was something that the church couldn't control.

To the extent that they continue this strategy [as described in the quotes], especially in this age, they will probably continue to lose the control they seek.

Avatar is becoming one of the highest grossing films of all time and may soon exceed them all. Some conservatives have criticized what they perceive as a simplistic or radical message. However, I loved the basic message of the movie, though some of its Hollywood violence and veneer could have been reduced. I've read all nine Anastasia (Ringing Cedar) books and parts of the movie seemed to speak directly to her message. The end was stunning!

I heard what Cameron said about his own movie. To the effect, it is amazing that a movie had to be made showing a world many light years away, that had to show us how to take care of our planet earth. Definitely in line with Anastasia's message.
