In his book, THE DIVINE MATRIX, Gregg Braden references a recent translation of the Jesus' Lord's Prayer from the original Aramaic. I was intrigued and followed the reference to THE ARAMAIC PRAYER OF JESUS as translated from Aramaic by Saadi Neil Douglas-Klotz of the Sufi Order of the West which reads as follows: "O, Birther of the Cosmos, focus your light within us -- make it useful Create your reign of unity now Your one desire then acts with ours, As in all light, So in all forms, Grant us what we need each day in bread and insight: Loose the cords of mistakes binding us, As we release the strands we hold of other's guilt, Don't let surface things delude us, But free us from what holds us back. From you is born all ruling will, The power and the life to do, The song that beautifies all, From age to age it renews. I affirm this with my whole being. I found that I resonate with this translation better than the traditional form of the Lord's Prayer. To me, "birther of the Cosmos" sounds like the Divine Mother. So I found myself adapting this translation to something more in the language of our Teachings. I offer it as follows: "O, Mother of Cosmos, focus your light within us. Guide us to use it in co-creating your reign of Unity now When your one desire is fulfilled through us, As in all light above, so in all forms below. Grant us the abundance and insight we require each day To release the cords of past errors with which we bound ourselves, As well as those we hold of other's guilt. Help us see clearly the surface things that delude us So we may free ourselves from all limitation. From you is born all will, wisdom and love For us to manifest within our consciousness and all cosmos. This is the song that beautifies all creation, And renews it from age to age. I affirm this with my whole being. Abundant blessings to us all as we co-create the Divine Mother's reign of Unity here below. Thank you. |

Thank you Margaret for this beautiful prayer - I really like your adaptation to the "Mother of Cosmos." |
