 Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ's

  1. I just learned that The Hearts Center is a 501(c)3. What does that mean?

Since May 8, 2007, the Internal Revenue Service has recognized The Hearts Center as a charitable organization, allowing its supporters to make tax-deductible contributions.

  2. What is meant by a tax-exempt status?

Our organization does not have to pay taxes. This is important of course, but equally important is that The Hearts Center may accept contributions that are donor tax deductible and that donations given from the inception of The Hearts Center, March, 2005, are fully deductible also.

  3. Does it matter if I give cash, check or credit card contributions?

It does not matter. You may make your contribution using any of these methods and your contribution will be tax deductible.

  4. What about the love offerings I give at services or conferences? Are those considered charitable contributions?

Yes. Love offerings are charitable contributions and fully deductible on your personal income tax return.

  5. Can I make non-cash contributions like stocks and bonds to the HC?

Definitely. A gift of investment property is also tax deductable.

  6. What about real property? Could I bequeath my property to The Hearts Center in my will?

Yes. This type of donation would require the assistance of an attorney. And our staff can work with you as well.

  7. Can I designate The Hearts Center as a beneficiary of any of my assets?

Yes. Again, the assistance of an attorney would be required.
